Two Hilltops | Art Show Opening

Unique wildlife perspectives from opposite ends of the country.

From the jagged peaks of Jackson Hole, Wyoming to the hills of Greensboro, North Carolina, we are proud to present the artwork of Nicole Gaitan and Ryan Sharpe at the Fulton Street Showroom, a Boise contemporary art gallery.

Nicole’s bold canvases are inspired by her motto “All Life is an Experiment” (a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson), and she was voted Best Emerging Artist by Jackson Hole locals in 2014-15.  READ MORE ABOUT NICOLE

Ryan’s work as a metal fabricator led him to creating fascinating metal sculptures inspired by the sport of fly fishing. He also creates original works with pen and ink and has been featured by MidCurrent and Southern Culture on the Fly MagazineREAD MORE ABOUT RYAN

The show runs from June through August.

Congratulations to Josh Udesen

One of our artists, Josh Udesen of Sightline Studio, has been selected by the Idaho Conservation League as the 2016 ICL Artist in Residence. Congratulations Josh! The ICL’s Artist in Residence (AIR) program has been in existence since 2013, and Josh is the third artist selected since its inception. The program “…exists to share the beauty of the places we work to protect and tell the Idaho story in creative new ways to expanded audiences.”

“Although fish are my primary inspiration, I have also started large depictions of wild places by painting grand vistas of the west. The media I use is primarily acrylic paint on large framed birch panels, but I also have an affinity for the detail and exact nature of pen and ink. The difference in these two techniques allows me to both diversify my style and approach similar subjects in completely different ways.

“My ultimate hope is to provide a platform for all Idahoans to connect with a place we love. Be it the memory of a fish, a day on the river, a magnificent place, a wide vista or a unique experience, my hope is to elicit a response in each person that they can connect to the magnificence of Idaho.” — Josh Udesen

An avid outdoorsman, Josh has created art that has been used by companies and organizations such as Patagonia, and the Montana Fly Company. He has been featured by MidcurrentThe Drake Magazine, and Gray’s Sporting Journal.

Josh was a featured artist in our December 2015 Favorite Things show, and we look forward to seeing the new work that he will be producing this year. In addition to the Fulton Street Showroom, you can see Josh’s art hanging at the beautiful South Fork Lodge in Swan Valley, Idaho, as well as in the Gravel Bar & Grille in Ennis, Montana.
